After working with Chris Collins for a couple of years on his lifestyle blogs, he reached out to me to build his fragrance brand, World of Chris Collins. It’s not too often I start working with a brand from the beginning, especially one that’s so sexy! From design to web development to project coordinating to photography, he required full branding services for his e-commerce store. We built this brand over the course of a year.
What I Did
Chris and I immediately started observing industry trends, while having thorough discussions of what worked and what didn’t with each brand. He explain his entire process of developing his fragrances in France, and why he chose the complex scents of Alchemy of Fragrance, that are kicking starting his larger brand, World of Chris Collins. Although we focused on branding the fragrances, we also stay conscientious of the brand moving forward. After the design and discovery phase, we moved forward with web development, creating a custom theme for Shopify, while prepping for the photography. I knew immediately that I wanted to shoot his fragrances on black glass. Stylized, moody, and sleek, it would complement his brand well. After shooting his scent all morning in my studio in Beacon, we headed to The Roundhouse, where I photographed him with his scents. Those photographs have continued to build his brand beyond his website, serving in many news articles, Bergdorf Goodman promotions, and press releases. In the final months approaching the launch, the last piece of the project focus on orders and distribution. Chris uses a warehouse for all of his distribution, so we had to seamlessly connect his Shopify e-commerce store with his warehouse to manage all of the orders and shipping. Finally on Black Friday 2017, World of Chris Collins was launched. By March of 2018, his fragrances launched at Bergdorf Goodman. The sky’s the limit for Chris Collins. I’m so proud of him, and being a part of his brand every step of the way!
