The Brief

My second assignment for Valley Table was center around edible violets. In the month frigid month of January, I could think of nothing better than to photography beautiful flowers.

What I Did

My first shoot was at F.W. Battenfeld and Son greenhouses in Red Hook, NY. I enjoyed the warmth of the greenhouse, while photographing the owner Morgan Battenfeld making a nosegay. Who could ask for a more delightful day of shooting beautiful tasty flowers!

The following week, I traveled to Cold Spring to photograph Chef Vincent Mocarski at The Garrison cooking up a delicious lobster risotto with violets, coupled with a “Violet King” cocktail. Beautiful location. Delicious food and cocktails. Again, it was another magical day. Valley Table, I think you’re my favorite client! Thank you for all the adventures so far!
