The Brief
Last minute, a couple days before Thanksgiving, I was asked to capture this assignment of a Mexican Chef in Newburgh who makes authentic mole sauce.
What I Did
Well into the streets of Newburgh, I drove to Tacos Uriel to capture the mole process. I felt so honored to be in the presence of her entire family create this traditional Mexican dish. It’s truly the best mole I’ve ever had. Most of the cooking was outside in a large copper vat. I chose to photograph everything with one light or available light, to cultivate a renaissance quality to each photograph.
